It’s another grind-level tactic but if you’re just starting out with no list then this can work wonders. Product Hunt Every time you launch a new product, chances are it could be a good fit for Product Hunt. To make sure your product gets accepted by the moderators, make sure you reach out to an influential Product Hunter and get them to submit it on your behalf.

A useful footer. Below your main content is the footer of your email. It should contain a clear and simple way for your reader to unsubscribe, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. Mention why they are getting the email (they signed up), and how to contact you. Email apps often take care of this for you, but just be sure it is included. The footer area is where you could do “self-advertising” if you wanted to. Keep it simple, if you choose to do it, preferably just one or two “ads” or links.
Who it is from. Keep the “from” line in your email the same throughout the course. You are building trust, so it is important that the sender of the email remain the same Plus, if readers have whitelisted your email address, or directed your email into their primary Gmail tab, changing the address could hurt you. Choosing a person instead of an app or a blog name is best if you can; it is easy to ignore email from an entity and less so from a “real” person.
Soon after this, I developed and launched my first product, a crafters' design course for my DIY & Craft Blog. I promoted my course to my mailing list, and only my mailing list, as a test. It was my first launch and I admit I was a little nervous! But the launch to my mailing list, which was now 13,000 subscribers strong, was a huge success and I earned over $12,000 just from that launch ... all thanks to my mailing list. Without that list, I probably would have been lucky to make a few hundred bucks and wasted a whole lot of effort.

Your current customer base is a great place to start building your email list. If you have a CRM system, you probably have already have clients’ email addresses. The more information you have, the better. Start with an overarching list that includes all customers and then keep segmenting and branching out based on who your customers are, where they are located, what they purchased, or any other number of relevant variables that you have collected. If you don’t have a CRM and have not been collecting emails of past clients, then you’ll have little tougher time. Try calling your past and current customers, look on their website for contact information or reach out on social media to acquire their emails. Starting with your current and past customers will give you a solid foundation to build on.  
Search terms: You can find out the specific terms people are using to find your site, which will help you decide what the most popular topics for your readers are. However, Google searches are increasingly not providing the specific search terms that they used to, going with “not provided” instead, so this ability may decrease in the future (at least with the Google search engine).

High-traffic posts: High-traffic posts are the posts that people are reading, and indicate a topic they are interested in. So at the end of that third month (January 2017), I began my mailing list. And I immediately began learning HOW to build a mailing list, because it's not as simple as slapping up a "subscribe to me" form on your blog. (Tried that, didn't work.) I researched, tested, and experimented. When I found something that worked, I did more and more of it. I continuously refined and focused until I had my own little formula that was working!
If you know your target audience, you can set up the prize in a manner will be most appealing only for that segment. For example, if your business sells eco-friendly sneakers, the obvious option would be to give away a pair of the latest sneakers from your line of products. A cheaper and still relevant prize could be recycled coffee mugs, handcrafted jewelry, or organic cotton activewear.
You might be doing all the right things to generate leads -- landing pages, gated content, contests, and more. The problem might be that the design or copy itself isn't driving the engagement you need. A/B test (also known as "split test") different aspects of your list-building campaigns with different versions of the same content. This includes the call-to-action text, the color of the gated offer, the time of day you're posting to social media, and even where on your website these signup forms are placed. Sometimes a small change can drive hundreds more conversions.

Offline events like trade shows are highly anticipated growth opportunities for professionals in your industry. Demo your latest product at an appropriate conference and collect signups in-person. Once you're back at the office, import these signups into your contact database. Be sure to send these contacts a welcome email that confirms their opt-in to your list. This is especially effective of course if the content you’re sharing is relevant to your own business, and if you’re sharing it to or with a group of your target audience. If you share highly relevant content on Facebook and your target audience clicks on it from your Snip.ly link, chances are they’ll also be interested in your content and opt-in offers.
