I am happy to also ask for a plug for my family’s apparel website in the opener of said post if you think this post suggestion is a good idea. Shameless I know…..LOL! But hey maybe it will get your fans to keep submitting ideas. There might be something here to channel your fan base to get us to help your business. Think it over…..You really have reached Malcolm Gladwell Tribe status. And have done a great job with that. At this point whatever you asked the tribe to do they would deliver for you.
Shorter copy is powerful. 200-300 words or less is a good rule of thumb if you aren’t using a full blog post, especially if you are sending more than one email a week. We have used this idea of using only part of a blog post in our own emails, making sure that the introductory copy was sufficient to let the reader know exactly what the post was about. Entice without tricking, in other words.

Some readers will unsubscribe from your email autoresponder, whether it is short or long in duration. It is inevitable. Watch for trends that might indicate a necessary change (e.g. high unsubscribes after a particular lesson), but understand that unsubscribes are a natural part of your list’s equilibrium. Even if people unsubscribe, they were exposed to your content before they did so. Load the beginning of the course with excellence and go from there.

Experts like Joe Pulizzi, founder of Content Marketing Institute, believes that an email list is critical as one cannot build his/her own content on a rented land. He continues saying that the first step is to collect email addresses whereby a person can understand who are his/her readers and hopefully they will be his/her, customer, soon. If a person’s goal is to drive sales or keep customers happy in some way, then he/she would first have to get them as part of his/her audience.
With pop-ups, you can catch the audience at the very beginning, during page scrolling, when they want to exit the page – which you might see on our site as well. Done well, it’s not annoying at all 🙂 And if your site is on WordPress, there’s a lot of great pop-up plugins you can try out and use to build your email list, even from scratch. Use them as a subscription tool, exit-intent, registration form, or whatever means you want. Simply read our linked recommendation and see which one fits your needs the best. When you meet people face to face for any reason, ask for their business card. Offer yours. Set a glass bowl on the counter in your store or the reception desk in your office, and ask visitors to drop their cards in it. Offer some incentive to do so — a free product or service, gift card, etc. Use your own business cards to further drum up emails; add an offer on the back of your card that encourages people to sign up to receive your emails.
But your money could also be spent on advertising your product to a community – not a random set of people For example, John Lee Dumas runs a podcast called Entrepreneur on Fire. If you have a great product that will make an entrepreneur’s life easy, you can hit him up there. His episodes cover all things entrepreneurial and he boasts a loyal audience. His September listens totaled more than 1 million. John even recently published a useful blog post about podcast sponsorships.
